Sepp Blatter, like the Sultan of Brunei, will probably try to get this book banned. The $it£y shenanigans of FIFA are laid bare for all to see. I’ve read Fergie’s, Gerrard’s and Rooney’s autobiographies and learnt very little about football. This salacious sizzler lifts the lid on a fascinating, arcane and ulcerous world beyond the remit of the Sky Sports and Soho Square blazers. Strongly recommended for people who love their sport and hate the way it’s being packaged for self-serving, self-appointed scumbags. Want to understand how the next World Cup is being staged in the Arabian desert? Let Everyman Stan be your guide through Hades… his machiavellian exploits are as tragi-comic as FIFA itself. Ruud Gullit, Kevin Keegan, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and even Michael Jackson feature in the jungle which left me wondering just how much of the action can be true. Still googling to find out! Plenty laugh-out-loud moments (the fixed lucky draw is brilliant!). Quick-fire tempo saw me finish the book in 2 days... good going as its over 370 pages.
Five stars for me, just like Mr. Park’s beloved home team!
